The propostion to create a new pony can be quite an undertaking and we can help you in your decision process from stallion selection, to mare evaluation, insemination and foaling care.
When preparing for artificial insemination, we like to see your mares starting in February for an initial ultrasound and, if warranted, uterine culture and biopsy. At that time we'll ask for your stallion information, if it's available, including copies of contracts and contact numbers. We'll contact your stallion owners and find out what their collection schedule is for the year and from here begin developing a schedule for breeding dates based on the seasonality of your mare and your foaling goals.
For those wanting to breed in Febraury, in hopes of that elusive January 1st baby, give Dr. Robinson a call and he'll discuss the steps that you need to go through.
We are also set up for insemination with frozen semen and, working with Dr. Don Peters of Fronteir Genetics in Hermiston, can assist you with embryo transfer as well.
For more information on reproductive services, do give Dr. Robinson a call in the clinic and he'll visit with you on the phone and/or we can set up some consultation time in the clinic to go over the finer details.
